What to Expect

What to expect during a session.

Sessions are designed to be calm, collaborative, and respectful of your horse’s boundaries. I move at their pace and adjust techniques based on their feedback and comfort level.

  • Arrival & check-in: We’ll briefly discuss your horse’s history, recent changes, and current concerns.
  • Posture & movement look: I’ll observe posture, stance, and movement (if appropriate) to see how the body is compensating.
  • Hands-on session: Massage, myofascial work, and/or PEMF application tailored to what your horse needs that day.
  • Integration time: Horses are given time to process, yawn, lick/chew, and shift as their body unwinds.
  • Debrief: I’ll share what I found, how your horse responded, and suggestions for timing of future sessions.

Before your appointment:

  • Have your horse reasonably clean, dry, and in a safe, quiet area (grooming stall, aisle tie, or stall).
  • Avoid scheduling immediately before a farrier or vet appointment if possible.
  • Let your vet know your horse is receiving bodywork if they’re currently under medical care.

After your appointment:

  • Turnout or hand-grazing is ideal so your horse can move and integrate changes.
  • Light work may be appropriate the following day depending on what we address.
  • I’ll let you know what’s best based on your horse’s response that day.
